Tom Reimers/Owner

Tom Reimers, a native and resident of Scottsdale completed his studies at Arizona State University. He joined Designers Showcase, a leading furniture and design firm, and soon became the head designer as an active allied member of ASID. With diverse experience in both furniture and interior design, Tom left to establish DS The Studio where he works with distinguished residential and commercial clientele across the country. In the past few years, Tom’s projects have been published in Phoenix Home and Garden and Phoenix Magazine, as well as earn him numerous awards.

Tom’s commercial work includes the Hermosa Inn in Paradise Valley, the Royal Palms in Scottsdale, Rancho de los Caballeros in Wickenburg, and Security Bank in Minnesota. His residential projects range from the chic ultra contemporary in San Francisco to the stately elegant traditional in Atlanta. His designs are distinct and have set him apart from others in the industry. The success of his firm comes from his ability to capture a client’s tastes and desires, and then translate those requests into a beautiful, livable sanctuary.

Erik Humphrey/Showroom Manager

Erik’s background in the furniture industry followed a similar path to Tom’s. He started working for Tom in the warehouse, in 1991. He eventually moved into accounting and management as he worked his way towards a B.S. degree in finance from Arizona State University, in 1998. Accumulating knowledge from all areas of the business, Erik joined the sales staff in 1998, developing interior design projects as well as establishing relationships with the interior design trade of Arizona. He continues with these responsibilities today, along with the overall management of the new showroom.

Vonice Veltkamp/Designer

Vonice joined our studio January 1, 2008 with fabulous energy and enthusiasm. She has been in the interior design community for over 20 years. As an allied member of ASID, Vonice has participated in many show houses throughout the years and has done models for Monterey Homes. She diligently continues to keep current on product and trends through ASID.

Vonice feels one of her greatest assets is her ability to listen to her client. Many times clients are not aware of the look they are striving for until they actually discuss such subjects as how they will use a space, or how certain colors make them feel. After spending time getting to know the client, they feel comfortable talking about various desires and concerns. The complete process could be for one room or for an entire home. From traditional to contemporary, with eclecticism each style can be stunning and original.

Another specialty Vonice insists upon is the attention to detail with extra-ordinary service. Each client is made to feel like they are her only project. With her long list of extremely satisfied clients in Arizona, Washington, and Montana, she will be delighted to give you the same superb attention.
